GWNS presented with special award from the Royal Borough of Greenwich

We are pleased to let you know that Greenwich Winter Night Shelter won the Leader’s Special Civic Award as part of the Royal Greenwich Civic Awards 2020. The certificate with which GWNS Trustees were presented explained that the award ‘is given in appreciation and recognition for its outstanding contribution to the social, economic and physical wellbeing of Royal Greenwich to this outstanding project’. The Night Shelter’s Trustees were informed that GWNS would receive the award in March, but the Award Ceremony had to be postponed due to the lockdown. However, on 25 August, the Leader of the Council, Cllr Danny Thorpe and the Mayor, Councillor Linda Bird were able to present the award to three GWNS Trustees: Rev Margaret Cave, Beverley Campbell and Marianne Gass.
